NATO to significantly expand its forces in Europe due to Russian aggression.

NATO plans to increase its forces by 250,000 troops
NATO intends to increase the number of its military forces by 250,000 people due to the threat from Russia. To achieve this goal, it plans to create 49 new brigades. This is reported by the German publication Welt am Sonntag, citing unpublished plans of the Ministry of Defense.
According to secret documents that appeared in the spring of 2024, NATO has agreed on the "minimally required potential" to respond to potential Russian aggression. The plans were created by NATO leaders - General Christopher Cavoli from the USA and Admiral Pierre Vendier from France.
According to these plans, the number of combat brigades will increase from 82 to 131, with each brigade consisting of about 5000 soldiers. There are also plans to increase the number of combat corps from 6 to 15 and division headquarters from 24 to 38.
Furthermore, NATO plans to increase its stockpiles of weapons. The number of anti-aircraft missile systems is to increase from 293 to 1467, including the Patriot, Iris T-SLM, and Skyranger systems. The number of helicopters will also grow from 90 to 104 units.
These plans pertain to all 32 NATO member countries, with specific commitments depending on the economic capabilities and population of each country.
Recall that former NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg previously stated that increased military support from NATO could have prevented a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine by 2022.
