Ukrainian National Team in the New Euro 2028 Qualifiers

In Bilbao, ahead of the UEFA Europa League final, a meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee took place, during which the qualification format for Euro 2028 was approved. 24 teams will participate in the tournament, which will be held at nine stadiums in the UK and Ireland.

The teams participating in the qualification will be divided into 12 groups. In addition to the participants, the tournament hosts - England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales - will also take part in the qualifiers and will be placed in different groups.

Twelve group winners and the eight best runners-up (a total of 20 teams) will automatically qualify for the Euro 2028 finals.
Two spots in the final tournament will be reserved for high-ranked host countries that did not qualify for the finals through the qualifying tournament.
The remaining runners-up will play playoff matches and compete for spots in the tournament against the League of Nations UEFA group winners who did not qualify for Euro.

Depending on the distribution, the number of teams in the final tournament may change from two to four. The schedule for the qualifying tournament will be announced in 2025.

Recall that Ukraine's head coach Serhiy Rebrov has announced the list of players he has called up for preparation for the matches of the June Canadian Shield tournament in Toronto.
