Business on Supplies for the Armed Forces — Scheme of Mykolaiv Official.

The head of the Mykolaiv housing management office embezzled over 2.3 million hryvnias of budget funds allocated for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The official was caught red-handed and arrested, facing up to 12 years in prison.
This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigations.
Details of the Case
The official was supposed to organize the purchase of fuel wood for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Knowing the actual cost of the product, he set up a scheme of illegal enrichment, involving his subordinate — a leading engineer in the office.
In fact, the wood was purchased from the state forestry enterprises under the guise of supplying local residents, who had the right to a preferential price. Later, the same goods were sold through fictitious companies to the housing management office at three times the price. The proceeds of over 2.3 million hryvnias from the scheme were transferred to the accounts of controlled private companies.
To ensure compensation for damages to the state, the official's property has been seized. He is currently removed from his position.
What Punishment is Threatening
The individual has been informed of suspicion under Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (embezzlement and misappropriation of property by abusing official position on an especially large scale). He faces up to 12 years in prison.
Recall that recently we wrote about a scheme for profiting from non-existent military personnel. And also about a dealer who wanted to profit from assistance to the Armed Forces.
