Vadim Shevchuk - a hero who died in battle for Ukraine
Every day at 9 AM Ukrainians honor the memory of those who lost their lives in the Russo-Ukrainian War. Today we remember Vadim Shevchuk.
On February 9, 2024, 25-year-old soldier Vadim Shevchuk died in the fight for Ukraine's independence. For a year, he was considered missing in action. This was reported by the Sokyryany City Council.
Vadim was born and raised in the village of Vitryanka in Chernivtsi Oblast. He received a general secondary education in his native village and was trained at the Bukovinian Military Lyceum in the city of Novodnistrovsk.
Since childhood, Vadim dreamed of becoming a military man. After finishing the lyceum, he served in the Airborne Assault Troops under contract. After the contract ended, he returned to his native village, where he helped his parents with farming.
In July 2022, Vadim Shevchuk joined the defenders of Ukraine in the Russo-Ukrainian War.
On February 9, 2024, the young serviceman was killed in battle in the Avdiivka area of Donetsk Oblast. For an entire year, he was considered missing in action.
He was survived by his mother and father. Vadim Shevchuk was only 25 years old.

We honor the memory of the citizens of Ukraine who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of our state, including military personnel, civilians, and children. We also remember those who died as a result of the attack of hostile forces on Ukrainian cities and villages.
