The case materials indicate that a contractor serving as a senior shooter in the patrol unit left his military unit without permission on September 2, 2024, at 13:50. He went home, where two children aged five and nine were left.

In Kremenchuk, Poltava region, the military left his place of service due to family circumstances. The man explained his actions by the need to care for the two minor children after their mother abandoned them.

Case Details

At the trial, the accused explained that he did not have the opportunity to officially take a leave or resign, so he left for home on his own. During this Time, he was with the children at the place of registration, officially worked, and provided for them materially.

On February 10, 2025, the serviceman was detained in Poltava.

Court Decision

The court found the man guilty of unlawfully leaving the military unit under conditions of martial law (part 5 of Article 407 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and imposed a penalty of five years of imprisonment.

The defendant fully admitted his guilt.

And in the Odesa region, a combat medic was tried for evasion from mobilization.
