State Department: Changes to nuclear doctrine will not help enhance Russia's security.

The U.S. State Department condemned the increase in Russia's nuclear rhetoric, stating that it will not enhance the country's security. This was reported by U.S. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller.
According to him, since the beginning of military actions in Ukraine, Russia has been using irresponsible nuclear rhetoric and behavior, trying to instill fear not only in Ukraine but also in other countries, even though neither the U.S. nor NATO poses a threat to Russia. The U.S. representative warned that such policies will not increase Russia's security.
At the same Time, the spokesperson noted that changes in Russia's nuclear policy reflect hypocrisy. He pointed out that Russia believes it can use nuclear weapons against non-nuclear states in response to aggression, similar to that which Russia itself is committing against Ukraine and its people.
