Diversification of gas supply: Poland's largest LNG terminal has increased its capacity.

Poland has expanded its liquefied natural gas terminal in the city of Swinoujscie

The liquefied natural gas terminal in Poland, located in the city of Swinoujscie, has been expanded. Its capacity has increased by one third and now stands at 8.3 billion cubic meters of gas per year.

The expansion of the terminal included increasing the number of regasifiers, building a second jetty, and a third tank. Now the terminal can store up to 180,000 cubic meters of liquefied natural gas.

Thanks to the expansion of the terminal, Poland can diversify its sources of gas supply. Now 50% of the country's gas needs can be met by domestic resources, which reduces dependence on Russian gas.

The expansion of the terminal was funded by the European Regional Development Fund. About 461 million zlotys have been allocated for this project.

The expansion of the terminal is an important achievement for Poland, as it is included in the list of Projects of Common Interest of the European Union. In addition, there are plans to launch another LNG terminal with a capacity of 6.1 billion cubic meters by 2027-2028.
