Two men in the TCC in Poltava region cut their hands to avoid mobilization.

Two men tried to avoid mobilization
In the Kremenchuk district territorial center for recruitment and social support, two men attempted to harm themselves to avoid mobilization. According to the Poltava regional TCC and SP, around 15:00 on March 14, 2025, one of them began to scratch his hands with keys, while the other repeated these actions with a broken bottle. Both men were given first aid, but since they stated that they would rather kill themselves than defend their country, they were taken to a psychiatric ward.
The TCC leadership considers these actions an attempt to evade military service, as in both cases this was done demonstratively and without endangering life or health. Both men had already been examined by a psychiatrist and were declared fit for military service prior to these events. After treatment, their actions will be treated as military misconduct.
According to Article 409 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, evading military service through self-harm in a state of martial law can be punished with imprisonment for a term of 5 to 10 years. Law enforcement agencies have already received relevant reports regarding these events.
Increase in violations of military registration rules
It is also worth noting that since the beginning of the year, 9,658 proceedings have been opened in connection with violations of military registration rules, almost as many as for the entire last year.
Additionally, disputes with the TCC on the street can also lead to a fine. Recently, in Kyiv, a man was fined 119 UAH for petty hooliganism during a document check by the TCC.
