Intrigues in South Korea affect support for Ukraine

After provocations from North Korea, a serious situation arose within South Korea. Although Ukraine will not receive military support anytime soon, Kiev will receive assistance from Seoul's intelligence and observers.

According to retired SBU Major General Viktor Yagun, interviewed by the FREEDOM TV channel, there is a political confrontation between the left and right directions within South Korea.

"North Korea, through its actions, is pressuring the political establishment of South Korea, particularly the left wing. They demand that the President of South Korea, who belongs to the right-wing conservatives, refrain from provocations, reduce conflicts with Russia, and ease tensions with North Korea," said Yagun.

This political confrontation significantly complicates the possibility of providing aid to Ukraine.

"All decisions are made through parliamentary voting. What exactly will happen after the voting is still unknown. The President of South Korea can send representatives, intelligence, interpreters, observers, and analysts. However, regarding weapons, the situation is still complex. Everything depends on the internal political debates in the South Korean parliament," explained Yagun.
