Fighters of the 'Phoenix' unit of the State Border Guard Service (SBGS) in the Kupiansk direction captured two Russian soldiers using a drone. The occupiers were dropped a bottle of water with a note saying 'Follow the drone'. This was reported by the press service of the SBGS on Thursday, July 10.

How the Russians were captured

The military reports that after attacking the positions of the Russians, the occupiers raised a makeshift white flag. The drone pilots decided to take advantage of the moment: they dropped a bottle of water with a note saying 'Follow the drone'. The captives followed the instructions — they went after the drone right to the Ukrainian positions. On the way, they were attacked by their own — a Russian drone targeted former comrades, injuring one of them. However, the Ukrainian warriors managed to provide assistance and evacuate both.

Earlier we reported that in the Vovchansk direction, fighters of the SBGS 'Forpost' captured a Russian serviceman from the assault units. We also reported that in the Kharkiv direction, Ukrainian border guards are disrupting the logistics of Russian occupiers.

Ukrainian border guards continue to demonstrate resourcefulness in confronting the enemy, especially using modern technologies. Given the difficult situation in the east of the country, such unconventional methods can help in detaining enemy militants and ensuring security at the border. For instance, using drones for surveillance and luring enemy soldiers into enticing traps can be an effective way to combat aggression.
