New song by Yan Shipula commemorates Marine Corps Day
In honor of Marine Corps Day, the 'Cultural Forces' platform presented a new song by Yan Shipula titled 'Manifest, Destroy'. This information was reported by the press service of 'Cultural Forces'.
Yan Shipula is an actor, translator, and rapper who, according to him, creates amidst wars. He is known for his style of 'non-standard Cossack rap', which combines front-line truth, humor, energy, and love for his comrades. Shipula added: 'I was on a combat mission in the Serebryansky forest when the idea and lines of this song were born. This resulted in a song about a soldier who realizes the importance of war but continues to enjoy life.'
Cultural Forces emphasize that this song is not just about war, it is about brotherhood, about jokes under shelling, about tea in the trenches, about the ability of Ukrainian warriors to remain human even in hell.
Celebrating Marine Corps Day in Ukraine
On May 23, Ukraine celebrates Marine Corps Day, which is a professional holiday for the servicemen of the Marine Corps of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of the country. This holiday was established in 2014 but was celebrated on November 16 until 2017. The change of the celebration date to May 23 was introduced by the decree of the President of Ukraine No. 145/2018 'On Marine Corps Day of Ukraine'.
In addition, earlier the 'Cultural Forces' platform introduced audiences to the creativity of Ukrainian artists, particularly by presenting a musical album for Infantry Day. The participants of the album talked about the origin of the project's idea and their participation in it. Also, in the past, a music video was presented for a song about Ukrainian women who lost their loved ones in the war with the Russian Federation.
