Situation in Eastern Ukraine

The Russian offensive in Eastern Ukraine is slowing down, although the enemy continues to send missiles and drones. Experts believe this is merely a continuation of last year’s campaign, as the Kremlin cannot implement anything radically new. Currently, the enemy's actions on the territory of Ukraine, particularly in Kharkiv and Sumy regions, do not lead to significant breakthroughs.

“Currently, the Russians have no opportunity to start anything radically new. The offensive will only be a continuation of what they did in the spring,” noted ISW war studies analyst Anzhelika Evans.

Prolongation of Enemy Attempts

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi noted the prolongation of Russian offensive attempts in the territories of Kharkiv and Sumy. The Russian army is unable to break through in Eastern Ukraine, but continues to conduct ground operations and airstrikes.

The commander of the Estonian Armed Forces Intelligence Center pointed out that the losses of Russian troops in Sumy hinder the capture of the entire region, and the tactics of the Russian army in Ukraine involve storming Ukrainian positions.

According to the comments of analysts and generals, it can be concluded that the Russian offensive in Eastern Ukraine does not lead to significant successes and breakthroughs, and attempts to capture strategically important regions are prolonging. Currently, the situation remains tense, but Ukrainian forces are firmly repelling the enemy's attacks.
