Oleksiy Yevhenovych Andriyev: lost in battle

Oleksiy Yevhenovych Andriyev with the call sign Koval participated in his last battle on November 25, 2023, near Bohdanivka close to Bakhmut. For almost a year, Oleksiy was considered missing. There was hope that he and his comrades were captured. This was reported by
“Glavkom”with reference to the Chernivtsi Regional Council.
Oleksiy Andriyev was born on August 24, 1973, in Mariupol, Donetsk region. His father worked as a senior mechanic on large ships, and his mother was a teacher. At school, he played football and was fond of heavy music.
After receiving a technical education, Oleksiy decided to become a director and enrolled in the Kyiv University of Culture and Arts. Here, he met his wife Nataliya and discovered his talent for videography. Later, he worked in film companies in Mariupol and Chernivtsi.
In 2017, Oleksiy moved to Chernivtsi, where he started his own business with his wife. However, he decided to defend Ukraine from the invasion. He served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine battalion in Kharkiv and Donetsk regions under the callsign Koval. He was sure that this nickname would bring him luck.
At the front, Oleksiy was involved in creating music for a film that his wife planned to shoot.
On November 25, 2023, Oleksiy's group was attacked under one of the positions in Bohdanivka near Bakhmut. Communication with them was lost, and the Russians began the assault. His body was discovered later, confirmed by a DNA examination.
Oleksiy was buried in the Alley of Glory in Chernivtsi. His wife and friend plan to publish his songs to preserve his legacy.

Oleksiy Andriyev was an outstanding figure both in the war and in civil life. Preserving his music will help keep his memory alive among his relatives and fans.
