Sweden will send its ships to NATO's patrol mission

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson announced this. According to him, Sweden will send three ships of its fleet to the North Atlantic Alliance's patrol mission. This mission will be carried out in the Baltic Sea to protect underwater infrastructure. This is the first Time Sweden is participating in a NATO mission.

Kristersson made this announcement at a security conference held in the Swedish town of Salen, reports European Truth, citing SVT.

According to reports, Sweden will send three ships and a reconnaissance aircraft of its fleet to participate in NATO's patrol operation. The main task of the mission will be to monitor critical underwater infrastructure.

'These military vessels are being placed under NATO command and will be used to enhance the maritime situation in the Baltic Sea. This is a large and significant contribution from Sweden... and the first case in which Sweden, as an ally, provides its armed forces for NATO activities to restrict and protect directly near our borders,' said Ulf Kristersson.
