Pre-New Year Price Growth: How Much Do Eggs, Sunflower Oil, Rice, and Buckwheat Cost in December.


Prices for chicken eggs, sunflower oil, rice, and buckwheat increased in Ukrainian supermarkets at the end of December
According to pricing monitoring data in large retail chains, prices for some food products rose in Ukrainian supermarkets at the end of December.
Before the New Year's holidays, Ukrainians are closely monitoring prices for essential food products. Especially considering that products such as eggs and sunflower oil are needed for preparing festive dishes, particularly salads. The December price monitoring in large retail chains showed noticeable changes compared to November 2024.
The largest price increase is observed for chicken eggs. For example, the average price for a pack of 10 'Kvoczka' eggs rose from 72.94 to 78.40 UAH, while 'Yasensvit' eggs increased from 70.26 to 77.90 UAH. Larger packs also became more expensive.
Prices for sunflower oil also rose. 'Oleina' and 'Shchedry Dar' oils became more expensive for the 850 ml volume.
The price of rice changed slightly. Long rice became cheaper, steamed rice increased in price by a few kopecks, while round rice became more expensive.
Buckwheat also became more expensive.
Such price fluctuations become relevant before the upcoming New Year's celebrations.
