Energy enterprises need enhanced fire protection, – expert.

Critical infrastructure enterprises have several problems, particularly in saving on fire protection means and insufficient attention to fire safety during the war. This conclusion was made by fire protection and safety expert Denis Lyubchenko. According to him, enterprises should adapt the regulatory framework to wartime conditions, create a governmental commission for readiness audit, and provide modern fire protection equipment.
Regarding the issue of saving on fire protection, the expert believes that especially passive fire protection means, which restrain the spread of fire over large areas, should be improved.
Insufficient attention to fire safety is noted during the war. Lyubchenko claims that this is a key need for critical infrastructure enterprises, including the energy sector.
The expert points to three important issues that need to be addressed. First, adapt the legal framework for fire protection to wartime conditions. Second, form a governmental commission to check the readiness of energy enterprises for the winter period and fire safety in general. Third, provide critical infrastructure enterprises with modern fire protection equipment.
The expert especially highlights wireless remote fire suppression control systems, as well as fire suppression systems in electrical cabinets, mobile communication stations, and transport. He also notes that autonomous fire protection systems are needed at large energy facilities, including nuclear power plants.
Lyubchenko believes that to acquire such equipment, enterprise leaders should seek state support.
