Poland's Presidency in the EU Will Focus on Two Priorities Regarding Ukraine.

Poland has stated its priorities during its presidency in the EU Council for the upcoming year. They include providing military assistance to Ukraine and accelerating the process of Eurointegration. Deputy Speaker of the Polish Senate Michal Kaminski noted that Ukraine should receive a specific date for its accession to the EU.
'One of the priorities of Poland's presidency in the EU will be military assistance to Ukraine and speeding up the Eurointegration process,' Kaminski emphasized.
Kaminski also stressed that the Russian aggression against Ukraine is the first war for EU membership, and Ukraine must be quickly included in the Union.
'Ukrainians today are the first who are dying for EU membership, so we must name a specific date for Ukraine's accession,' Kaminski said.
The politician acknowledged that the issue of Ukraine's EU membership will likely not be resolved during Poland's presidency, but it is necessary to start convincing other countries of the need to include Ukraine in the EU.
'I would like the Polish presidency in the EU to end with the determination of an accession date that everyone agrees on,' noted the Deputy Speaker of the Polish Senate.
Kaminski also expressed the view that the history of relations between Ukraine and Poland will not negatively affect Ukraine's Eurointegration process during Poland's presidency.
'The declaration of the Foreign Ministers of Ukraine and Poland regarding the search efforts concerning the Volyn tragedy has reduced tensions in our relations. We need to focus on the future, not on the past,' added Kaminski.
The Ukrainian-Polish Forum of the Future discussed relations between Ukraine and Poland, business conditions in Poland, and the situation of Ukrainian migrants and refugees in Poland. Poland will lead the EU in the first half of 2025.
