France holds meeting with expanded participants on Ukraine and European security
France is organizing the second meeting with an expanded group of participants to discuss the security of Ukraine and Europe. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, February 19.
The first meeting has already taken place
The first meeting has already occurred, attended by leaders of European countries and representatives from NATO and the European Union. During the meeting, it was stated that Europe is ready to ensure security for Ukraine.
New countries and Canada will also be present at the meeting
This Time, countries that were not part of the first gathering, as well as Canada – a NATO ally, have been invited to the meeting. Among the invited countries are Norway, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Czech Republic, Greece, Finland, Romania, Sweden, and Belgium.
Investment in defense issues
French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized the need for greater investment in defense from European countries. After the meeting, Macron held phone conversations with the presidents of the USA and Ukraine – Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky.
The British Prime Minister will meet with Trump
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer plans to visit the USA next week to discuss 'key elements of long-term peace' with President Trump. He believes that security guarantees from the USA are the only effective way to prevent Russian aggression against Ukraine.
