Rheinmetall Expands Production in Ukraine: IFVs, Air Defense, and More.

The German defense conglomerate Rheinmetall is actively expanding its presence in Ukraine and is launching large-scale production of military equipment and ammunition.
This was reported in an exclusive interview with TSN by the company director Armin Papperger.
According to him, the company's first plant has already begun operations in Ukraine, and the second is at the final stage of construction. The conglomerate owns 51% of the shares in a joint venture with the Ukrainian defense complex.
"By the end of the year, we will present the first ultra-modern Lynx infantry fighting vehicle, produced in Ukraine," noted Papperger.
The company also plans to expand its production capacities in several areas:
- Construction of a gunpowder plant
- Establishment of an ammunition manufacturing facility
- Setup of air defense systems production
Rheinmetall places special emphasis on implementing NATO standards in production. "The capabilities for gunpowder production and ammunition will be aimed at double or even triple production by NATO standards. These will be outstanding technologies in the future," emphasized the director of the conglomerate.
According to Papperger, the company is satisfied with the security level of enterprises in Ukraine and is conducting an extensive personnel training program.
Despite certain bureaucratic obstacles, the project is developing successfully, and the conglomerate's management insists on accelerating the pace of plan implementation.
The new production capacities will include lines for manufacturing tanks, artillery, and ammunition using the most modern technologies.
Recall that earlier Rheinmetall received an order from Ukraine for the construction of an ammunition plant.
