Russia has created a drone capable of striking Ukrainian naval drones – ISW.

Russian military has developed a drone that can attack Ukrainian naval drones of the armed forces. This affects the dominance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Black Sea. This information was provided by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
On February 1, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the Black Sea fleet of Russian forces used a drone ship to destroy a Ukrainian drone ship.
Russian military bloggers claim that the Black Sea fleet of Russia fired missiles from a drone ship of the 'Orion' type from the Russian company 'Kronstadt' from an unknown military naval facility.
It is noted that this strike could be the first confirmed case of Russian military using drone ships to strike Ukrainian drone ships.
However, another Russian blogger is urging the Russian authorities to increase the production of weapons similar to the X-UAV missiles (TKB-1030), which can be launched from a drone. This would allow more effective countermeasures against Ukrainian drone ships, which are risking using helicopters in the Black Sea area.
'Ukrainian forces have demonstrated their ability to shoot down Russian Mi-8 helicopters over the Black Sea using guided missiles fired from the Magura V5 strike naval drones. The strike by the Russian fleet on February 1 indicates that Russian troops have found a new way to counter these adaptations of Ukrainian drone ships,' the report states.
It is worth noting that Russia is currently using 'Shahed' drones with an increased warhead of up to 90 kg and metal elements to increase civilian casualties.
Also, on December 31, 2024, the special unit Group 13 of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine hit an aerial target for the first Time in history using the Magura V5 strike naval drone armed with missiles.
