The US Cut the Support Package for Ukraine: What is the Reason.

The US Congress rejected the proposal to allocate an additional 300 million dollars to Ukraine for military needs. This news was reported by the portal Breaking Defence.
The amendment related to the allocation of funds for military support did not find support in the House Appropriations Committee. It was proposed by Democrat Marcy Kaptur, but her idea did not resonate with the majority of committee members.
The House Appropriations Committee approved the defense spending bill for 2026 without the proposed 300 million for Ukraine. This money was supposed to go towards the purchase of precision missiles and other equipment for the defense of the country.
Explanation and Arguments of the Committee Chair
Marcy Kaptur believed that without additional funding, Ukraine might lose operational capabilities against aggression. The committee chair, Republican Tom Cole, explained his position by stating that tactically it is necessary to adhere to the decisions made.
'I presented the largest aid bill, and my opinion has not changed, but it is important to adhere to one's own commitments. Do not let grievances divide those who back the legislation,' Cole emphasized, despite supporting Ukraine.
Republicans sought to maintain unity during the vote, avoiding controversial amendments that could delay the budget's passage entirely.
Danger of Future Funding
The rejection of the proposal for 300 million dollars for Ukraine could undermine the stability of funding for the country's defense needs from the US. This may weaken Ukraine's defense capabilities in 2026 when the world faces instability and pressure on measures.
It is worth mentioning that Kellogg previously shared his vision for the end of the war in Ukraine.
Thus, the rejection of the proposal to allocate 300 million dollars for Ukrainian defense raises questions about the stability of funding and Ukraine's defense capabilities in the future.
