Standing to defend Ukraine since 2016. Let's remember Valeriy Syvrydjuk.


Every day at 9 AM, Ukrainians honor the memory of all whose lives have been taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today, we remember Valeriy Syvrydjuk.
Valeriy Syvrydjuk, who was a senior soldier and a gunner of a mechanized platoon, died in Rivne Regional Clinical Hospital on April 2, 2025, from an illness related to his military service. This was reported by 'Glavkom', citing the Kostopil City Council.
Valeriy Syvrydjuk was born on August 3, 1980, in Kostopil, Rivne region. He studied at school No. 1 and graduated from evening school. He worked at the 'Svispan Limited' enterprise.
In 2016, he became a participant in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO), and since then his life was connected with military service. Initially, he served as a scout in the 130th Brigade, then moved to the 128th, and later to the 42nd Separate Mechanized Brigade, where he worked as a gunner of a mechanized platoon.
He was at the forefront in many hot spots on various fronts. He sustained several concussions and injuries but always underwent treatment, rehabilitation, and returned to service. He was evacuated from positions near Toretsk with injuries and concussion. He was treated in Dnipro and then in Rivne Regional Clinical Hospital. Since February 10, 2025, Valeriy had been on leave due to his health condition.
On April 2, senior soldier Valeriy Syvrydjuk, former gunner of a mechanized platoon, died from an illness related to military service at Rivne Regional Clinical Hospital.
'My husband was a good and caring person, a wonderful father to our daughter. He always responded when any of his comrades needed help. When the Russian invasion began in full force, Valeriy became an instructor for many because he already had combat experience. He taught and gave advice on how to save lives in any situation. He sacrificed his health in the war, but with each treatment and rehabilitation, he prepared to return to the front line,' said Oksana Syvrydjuk, Valeriy's wife.
On April 4, 2025, Valeriy Syvrydjuk was buried at the 'Nove' cemetery in Kostopil alongside other soldiers of the Heavenly Legion.
Valeriy Syvrydjuk is survived by his wife, daughter Lesya, and mother.

We remember the dead at the hands of Russian invaders, light memory candles, and bow our heads in grief during the nationwide moment of silence, honoring the bright memory of Ukrainian citizens who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state: all military personnel, civilians, and children, everyone who died in the struggle against Russian occupiers and as a result of the attack by hostile forces on Ukrainian cities and villages.
