Thousands of people came to the tomb of Pope Francis in Rome.

On Sunday, April 27, many people witnessed the procession near the tomb of Pope Francis, who was buried on Saturday in the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome. Visitors stood in line before the opening of this landmark, according to reports by Reuters.
Pope Francis became the first head of the Roman Catholic Church to be buried outside the Vatican in the last century. His coffin was delivered to the basilica after the funeral liturgy that took place in St. Peter's Square in the Vatican.
The body of Francis was placed in a simple marble tomb, upon which only his Latin name - Franciscus - was inscribed.
It should be noted that the official farewell ceremony for the late Pope Francis concluded in the Vatican. His coffin was closed during the solemn ceremony held at St. Peter's Cathedral. This event became the main highlight of the three-day farewell ceremony attended by about 250,000 people.
Approximately 50 world leaders, 170 official delegations from around the world, as well as thousands of believers gathered in St. Peter's Square to bid farewell to the famous pope.
Among the dignitaries present at the ceremony were President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, President of the United States Donald Trump, President of France Emmanuel Macron, and other high-ranking officials and monarchs. Bishop Francis led the Catholic Church for 12 years and passed away on April 21 at the age of 88.
It is worth noting that Pope Francis died on Monday morning at the age of 88. His death occurred after a stroke against the backdrop of chronic illnesses. In February, he was diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia. During his stay in the hospital, Francis experienced four respiratory crises and was in danger twice. He was discharged from the hospital on March 23.
According to the will of the deceased, he wished to be buried in the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome, rather than in the Vatican, where many of his predecessors rest. In a document published the day before, he stated that his tomb should be simple and without unnecessary adornments.
