In Lviv, an assailant damaged a Hanukkah menorah: a criminal proceeding has been opened (video).


In Lviv, an unknown person damaged the Hanukkah menorah that was installed at the site of the former synagogue. The Lviv police have initiated a criminal proceeding regarding this case.
According to the police, video recordings from social media show an unknown man extinguishing and damaging the Hanukkah menorah that was located on Valova Street in Lviv.
The assailant damaged the cable that powered the lamp with electricity and fled the scene. The videos were recorded and published on local Telegram channels.
In connection with this incident, the police have opened a criminal proceeding under Article 178 'Damage to religious buildings or cult houses' of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. An investigative procedure is currently underway.
