Snow Falls in the Northern Regions of Saudi Arabia
For the first Time in history, snow has fallen in the northern regions of Saudi Arabia. A heavy snowfall occurred in the northern region of Al-Jawf. This is reported by the publication Khaleej Times.
Since last Wednesday, heavy rains accompanied by a significant amount of hail have swept through parts of the Al-Jawf region in the Kingdom.
«Just yesterday, the snowfall covered the mountainous areas, creating a stunning winter scene», – writes the publication.
Meteorologists warn that in the coming days, the region is expected to experience heavy rains and hail, which may reduce visibility on the roads.
These storms are also likely to be accompanied by strong winds.
The First Hurricane in Finland
Recall that in western Finland, the wind reached hurricane levels for the first time in history, resulting in 17,000 homes remaining without power as of Saturday. This is reported by Yle.
In Rauma, the average wind speed on Friday evening reached 33.5 meters per second, in Pori – up to 30.3 m/s.
This is the first instance of a true hurricane being recorded in Finland, said meteorologist Matti Huutonen.
