Ukraine submitted its first integrated report to the Energy Community.

Ukraine provided a report to the Energy Community on par with European Union countries, adhering to all European regulations and legislation. Just like EU member states, other countries that are not part of the European Union but are participants in the Energy Community are also required to implement European norms and standards in the energy sector.

Ukrainian specialists prepared the report by analyzing a large amount of data and incorporating relevant statistics and contextual information into the specialized online platforms of the European Environment Agency and the Secretariat of the Energy Community. The report was prepared using the methodology employed in EU countries, which allows for comparing and borrowing the best European practices.

Ukraine, which adopted the National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP) in June 2024, had only a few months to prepare and submit this comprehensive report. Despite the limited Time, the report demonstrates our intentions to integrate into the European energy and climate space. This will be the foundation for economic planning in the coming years and will help identify areas that require additional efforts and investments to achieve the set goals, emphasizes Oleksiy Sobolev, First Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine.

Detailed analysis of Ukraine's progress in various sectors

The report contains a detailed analysis of Ukraine's progress in various sectors of energy and climate policy. Despite the consequences of the war, the research shows positive dynamics.

The document includes 23 thematic appendices covering the development of renewable energy, the functioning of electricity and natural gas markets, energy security, decarbonization of the economy, energy efficiency and conservation, and the implementation of innovations in the energy sector. Preparing the report required coordination among all central executive authorities.

The integrated report is not just a reporting document but also an important tool for planning further steps. It shows how Ukraine combines the reconstruction of the economy with its structural transformation and will help create a more modern and competitive economic model, emphasizes Andriy Telyupa, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
