Rare lawsuit filed against abortionist in Illinois
An anonymous woman filed a medical malpractice lawsuit last week against an abortionist in Illinois after a 'horrific' turn of events revealed during an emergency hospital visit that her body had retained 'half of a dead embryo'.
Case details
Personal injury attorney Richard Craig filed the lawsuit on behalf of Jane Doe from Indiana against the 'Equity' clinic in Champaign and its founder, Dr. Keith Reisinger-Kindl.
Claims and allegations
The lawsuit claims that during a 22-week abortion performed in April 2023, Reisinger-Kindl left parts of the fetus inside the woman, leading to serious complications. After the procedure, when the woman reported persistent pain, Reisinger-Kindl allegedly advised her to take over-the-counter painkillers and laxatives. The woman later had to undergo emergency surgery to remove fetal remains. Jane Doe is seeking damages for medical negligence and emotional distress.
Trial proceedings
It is reported that Reisinger-Kindl 'deviated from acceptable medical practice' during the abortion, puncturing the plaintiff's uterus and failing to detect the damage. According to him, if he had 'removed the fetal remains, it would have been obvious'.
Doctor's response
Reisinger-Kindl declined to comment when contacted by Fox News Digital.
