Ukrenergo announced power outages on December 11 due to damage to the energy system
The company Ukrenergo announced that large-scale power outages are planned for December 11 due to damage to the energy system. According to the company, household consumers will have their electricity supply turned off throughout the day with varying intensity.
The outage schedule provides for one shift from 07:00 to 08:00, two shifts from 08:00 to 20:00, and one shift from 20:00 to 22:00. Industrial enterprises and businesses will face power restrictions from 07:00 to 22:00.
Increased electricity consumption complicates the situation in the energy system
The situation in the energy system is complicated by increased electricity consumption. As of 6:30 AM on December 10, the consumption level exceeds the previous day's figures by 2.8%. The daily maximum on December 9 was 6.4% higher than the figures from the previous Friday.
Bad weather has also led to additional loads on the energy system, which is why 66 settlements in the Chernivtsi, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, and Mykolaiv regions were left without electricity supply.
Compensation for electricity shortage through imports from five countries
To compensate for the electricity shortage, imports from Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, and Moldova are planned with a total volume of 12,413 MWh with a maximum capacity of up to 911 MW in individual hours.
