Representatives of the Operational-Tactical Group 'Siversk' reported that the defense system on the northern border differs from other regions due to difficult natural conditions, including the presence of swamps and forests.
'The use of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups is always observed precisely on the northern border. We do not lower our vigilance because of this; we are aware of these groups and monitor their actions. We have well-prepared counter-sabotage reserves, and we actively use technical detection means. I have always said and remind once again that the defense system on the northern border significantly differs from other regions due to difficult natural conditions, such as dense forests, many swamps, and small rivers that affect its construction. We build it to effectively fight in case of enemy penetration into our territory, not allowing them to move further. There are places where fortifications are impossible due to high groundwater levels that are close to the surface, these are swampy areas,' said Mysnik, as reported by Ukrinform.
At the same Time, he emphasized that the Defense Forces have been aware of all these features since 2022 and have adequately organized a defense that is effective and reliable.
Mysnik recalled that in recent days there has been a decrease in the number of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups on the northern border. At the same time, Russian occupiers continue to terrorize the civilian population through drone strikes and missile shelling.
