Veteran Business: Which Areas Former Military Personnel Choose.


As part of the 'Own Business' veteran program, 95 winners will receive scholarships totaling almost 45 million Hryvnias for starting or developing their own businesses. This was announced by the state employment service.
Thanks to this, there will be 180 new jobs created. Among the winners of the 11th round of the program, 49% are active fighters, and 51% are relatives of active fighters or persons with disabilities resulting from the war. The vast majority – 63% of the scholarship recipients have a higher education degree. 47% already have their own business. The average amount of the scholarship is 469,000 Hryvnias.
According to the data from the employment service, since the start of the veteran program in April 2023, almost 2000 Ukrainians have realized their business ideas. Over 3700 new jobs have been created as a result. Thus, 31% of scholarship recipients have opened shops and workshops, 15% have opened cafes or coffee bars, 14% produce goods, and 9% provide services.
As part of the 'Own Business' program of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and the state employment service, micro-grants of up to 250,000 Hryvnias can be obtained for the establishment or expansion of a business. Participants in combat actions or persons with disabilities due to the war, as well as their spouses, can receive up to 1 million Hryvnias within the framework of the veteran program. Young people under 25 years old can receive a scholarship of up to 150,000 Hryvnias.
Ukrainian veterans receive scholarships for developing their own businesses. As part of the 'Own Business' program, they will receive support in starting or developing their entrepreneurial activities. This will contribute to the creation of new jobs and the development of the country's economy and help veterans successfully integrate into civilian life after returning from the war.
