Many Ukrainians move to Poland seeking refuge but face unexpected costs when searching for accommodation.
Renting housing in Poland includes additional costs such as utility bills, maintenance fees, deposit, insurance, furniture, appliances, internet, and cable TV.
Utility bills
Bills for electricity, water, gas, and heating are usually not included in the rental price and cost additionally, approximately 200-500 zlotys per month.
Maintenance fees
In the case of living in a residential complex, there is another fee for the maintenance of common areas, including territory cleaning, lighting, and elevator maintenance, which ranges from 100 to 300 zlotys per month.
Deposit
When renting an apartment, you need to make a down payment of 1-2 months' rent, which is returned if the apartment remains in good condition.
Insurance
Property insurance is recommended, which costs from 30 to 100 zlotys per year and protects against financial losses in case of theft or property damage.
Furniture and appliances
Many apartments are rented without furniture, so additional expenses for furniture and appliances will be needed, from a few hundred to a thousand zlotys.
Internet and cable TV
The cost of internet connection is 50-100 zlotys per month, and cable TV - 30-60 zlotys.
For a comfortable stay in a rented apartment in Poland, all expenses, including utility bills, house and territory maintenance, deposit, insurance, furniture and appliances, internet connection, should be considered in advance.
