Departure to Poland Diia.pl: Ukrainians explained how to apply.

Ukrainians have been informed that it is important to know about crossing the border into Poland using Diia.pl.
According to information from the gov.pl website, in 2022, a digital application Diia.pl was introduced for Ukrainian citizens in Poland. This solution simplified the border crossing procedure and confirmed the legal stay of Ukrainians in Poland.
Diia.pl is a digital document that is part of the Polish mObywatel system and serves as a temporary residence permit.
Diia.pl offers the possibility to:
- confirm the right to reside in Poland;
- identify oneself during checks;
- travel within the Schengen Zone for 90 days within 180 days.
The procedure for obtaining Diia.pl is available for:
- Ukrainians who crossed the Polish border after February 24, 2022;
- persons with temporary protection status in Poland;
- citizens with a PESEL UKR identification number.
The process of applying for Diia.pl:
- Register with PESEL UKR at the local government (Urząd Gminy) with your passport;
- Download the mObywatel application, available on Android and iOS;
- Confirm your identity through Bank ID or management;
- Activate the Diia.pl document after confirming the data; it will be available in the application.
When crossing the border, it is important to know:
At the Ukrainian border:
- The main document must be a foreign or internal passport;
- Diia.pl is used only as an additional document.
At the Polish border:
- Diia.pl is an official confirmation of your right to legal stay in the country;
- You must also have your passport with you.
Traveling in Schengen:
- Diia.pl allows you to stay in Schengen Zone countries;
- The maximum duration of stay is 90 days within any 180 days.
Ukrainians are advised to always carry their passports instead of relying solely on the electronic version. It is also recommended to regularly check the current border crossing rules, as they may change.
It is worth noting that the rules for crossing the border for certain drivers in Ukraine have changed.
