According to information from the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, data on the losses of the Russian occupation troops was updated on the morning of December 28, 2024.

As of December 28, the Russian Federation has suffered the following losses:
- Personnel - about 784200 (+1690) people,
- Tanks - 9651 (+7) units,
- Armored fighting vehicles - 19970 (+19) units,
- Artillery systems - 21408 (+29) units,
- Weapon installations - 1256 (+0) units,
- Air defense systems - 1032 (+1) units,
- Aircraft - 369 (+0) units,
- Helicopters - 329 (+0) units,
- Operational-tactical UAVs - 21013 (+14),
- Cruise missiles - 3003 (+0),
- Ships / Boats - 28 (+0) units,
- Submarines - 1 (+0) unit,
- Vehicle technology and tank trucks - 32328 (+66) units,
- Special equipment - 3668 (+0).
Activity of the Occupation Fleet as of December 28
- In the Black Sea, there is an enemy ship carrying cruise missiles 'Kalibr', but the missiles are missing.
- No enemy ships have been detected in the Sea of Azov.
- In the Mediterranean Sea, there are eight enemy ships, three of which are carriers of 'Kalibr' missiles with a total launch capacity of up to 26 missiles.
During the day, the following ships have breached into the Kerch Strait and the visibility of the Russian Federation:
- Into the Black Sea - five ships, four of which continued towards the Bosphorus;
- Into the Sea of Azov - one ship that continued its movement from the Bosphorus.
Currently, the 1039th day of the comprehensive war in Ukraine is ongoing.
