The U.S. State Department has halted military aid funding for Ukraine

The U.S. State Department has suspended the international military financing program for Ukraine (FMF), however, two other key military support programs - PDA and USAI - continue to operate unchanged.

According to him, this concerns the freezing of the FMF program, which Congress allocated $1.6 billion for last year. These funds were exhausted as early as May.

'At the Pentagon, I was again assured that no new instructions regarding the termination of the PDA and USAI programs had been received,' Ostap Yarysh reported.

Contracts for weapon production under the USAI program and planned supplies from U.S. stockpiles under the PDA program remain in force. For the PDA program, approximately $4 billion remains in the Biden administration's budget.

The State Department's decision also affects non-military programs from USAID, including energy support, infrastructure restoration, medical aid, and education. The future of these programs remains uncertain.

The United for Ukraine (U4U) program, initiated by Biden, has also been suspended. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has temporarily halted the review of asylum applications under this program.

It was previously reported that USAID would suspend all programs in Ukraine.
