Airports in Moscow and St. Petersburg paralyzed due to drones - what happened.

On July 7, a transport crisis occurred in Russia due to drone attacks. Hundreds of flights were delayed or canceled, and large queues formed at airports. The most challenging situation was recorded in St. Petersburg and Moscow.
This is reported on social media, where Russians and local media are actively complaining about the situation.
Russian airports have suffered billion-dollar losses
In Pulkovo (St. Petersburg), over 100 flights are currently delayed, with passengers waiting from 2 to 6 hours, and about 30 flights have been canceled.
According to Russian sources, over 7 thousand passengers are stranded at this airport. As a result, people have to sleep on the floor, and some planes have been redirected to alternate airfields.
In Moscow, a similar situation: in the last day, about 30 flights have been canceled or delayed. Overall, from July 5 to July 7, Russian airlines canceled 485 flights, and over 1,900 were postponed. At the same Time, 43 thousand passengers canceled their tickets, and 94 thousand are temporarily staying in hotels, receiving vouchers for food and water.
Putin made personnel changes due to the drone crisis
Due to the transport collapse, Russian President Vladimir Putin was forced to dismiss Transportation Minister Roman Starovoit. The reasons for this decision were not announced in official sources, but Putin's spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, noted that 'there was no loss of trust in Starovoit.'
Among journalists and bloggers in Russia, there is a widespread opinion that the Minister of Transportation was dismissed due to problems with airport operations. It seems that the ministry was poorly prepared for possible drone attacks.
The recent drone attacks have led to a serious paralysis of Russian air transport, exacerbating the negative impact on passengers and financial losses for airlines and airports.
