Buckwheat Prices in Ukraine Soared Twice: What Awaits Consumers.

Buckwheat prices in Ukraine have almost doubled - up to 15 thousand UAH per ton.
This was reported by the director of the "Ozeryanka" cereal factory Anna Bosyuk in a comment to Ukrinform.
According to the expert, the main reasons for the price increase were the reduction in sown areas and unfavorable weather conditions in the summer.
"Due to the drought, the crops did not reach the expected quality," Bosyuk explained.
The situation is also complicated by the fact that farmers are holding back last year's harvest, expecting further price increases. If before the beginning of the new season a ton of buckwheat cost 8-10 thousand UAH, now the price reaches 15 thousand.
Retail networks are still selling old stocks, but new batches of cereals will be delivered at higher prices. According to manufacturers' forecasts, the wholesale price will be 30-35 UAH per kilogram, and in stores, buckwheat will cost 37-40 UAH.
Despite the price increase, "Ozeryanka" assures that production volumes are sufficient for both domestic consumption and export.
It is also reminded: the Ministry of Agrarian Policy assessed the harvest of early grain.
