A unique bomb shelter has opened in Obolon - what makes it special.

A new anti-radiation bomb shelter for schoolchildren and residents of the area has appeared in Obolon, Kyiv, built from 'scratch'. According to the head of the Obolon District State Administration, Kyrylo Fesyk, this shelter is the best in terms of 'price-quality' ratio and was constructed in just six months.
The cost of the new shelter, located on the grounds of the 'Perша Lastivka' school, is 50 million hryvnias. It has all the necessary conditions for surviving an attack or radiation hazard, including next-generation ventilation, beds, bathrooms, internet, and elevators for people with disabilities. According to Kyrylo Fesyk, after the war, children's clubs and circles will be created in this space, and now all conditions for safe stay during danger are ensured.
This is the first project built from scratch in Kyiv, and according to Fesyk, if there were more similar shelters in the capital, it would significantly increase the safety of citizens and small residents. Updated building standards regarding shelters have already been introduced in Ukraine, and every new construction now includes a bomb shelter capable of withstanding 10 kilopascals.
