Ukrainians were shown how gas prices differ depending on the type of heating.

Heating in Ukraine: cost calculations
According to the OBOZ.UA portal, gas heating is the most economical option for heating homes. In Kyiv apartments with an area of 50 square meters, gas heating is twice cheaper than electric heating. Centralized heating also costs more compared to gas.
The calculations take into account social consumption standards, based on which subsidy amounts are established.
According to the standards, for heating one square meter of housing, the following is accepted: - 30 kWt*h of electricity (taking into account the correction coefficient), - 0.0383 Gcal with centralized heating (taking into account the correction coefficient), - 4 cubic meters of gas (taking into account the correction coefficient).
Each region establishes its own correction coefficient, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in resolution No. 409. In Kyiv, this coefficient is 0.608.
Taking into account social standards and coefficients, the heating costs will be as follows:
- Electricity: 912 kWt*h. When using electricity for heating, this amount of electric current at a special rate (2.64 UAH per 1 kWt*h) will cost 2407.6 UAH per month.
- Centralized heating: 1.164 Gcal of heat. The cost for this amount of heat in Kyiv (at the 'Kyivteploenergo' rate - 1654.41 UAH) will be 1926.2 UAH.
- Gas: 121.6 cubic meters. The cost for this amount of gas will be 967.9 UAH.
It is worth noting that Ukrainians have the opportunity to receive subsidies and benefits for purchasing coal and firewood.
